At ei³, our ability to deliver reliable and secure industrial connectivity depends on the strength of the cloud infrastructure and security architecture behind it. We are pleased to announce the promotion of James Gunver to Vice President of Cloud Operations and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).
James has been an integral part of ei³’s technology foundation for several years. His new role reflects both his leadership and the trust we place in his ability to guide the next phase of our global infrastructure and security strategy.
Strengthening Cloud Operations and Security
In this role, James serves as the executive leader responsible for ei³’s global security, cloud infrastructure, compliance, and operational resilience strategy. He oversees the design, governance, and day-to-day operation of the cloud services that power ei³’s industrial IoT platform across global data centers.
James leads the company’s cybersecurity and cloud operations programs, including threat monitoring, vulnerability management, security operations, compliance, and incident response. Working closely with engineering teams, he helps ensure that ei³’s platform remains scalable, resilient, and secure as deployments continue to grow around the world.
In addition to these operational responsibilities, James now joins the ei³ Leadership Team, where he will help guide corporate strategy while overseeing security and cloud operations, compliance, as well as application security globally.
Building a Resilient Global Infrastructure
One of James’ key initiatives over the coming months is the continued development of ei3GlobeNet, an automated and secure data center system distributed across multiple geographic regions.
The infrastructure runs on a global high-speed fiber network backed by a proven WAN backbone. It is complemented by a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellation that provides low-latency IP connectivity for out-of-band communications and management, ensuring resilient and secure operations regardless of location.
A Career Built on Technical Leadership
James brings more than 30 years of IT experience across executive and technical leadership roles, including work on government initiatives. Prior to joining ei³, he served as CIO of International Research Corporation, Vice President of New York e-Health, and Director of IT at EmblemHealth and HIP of New York.
This breadth of experience across industries and large-scale infrastructure environments helps inform the security and operational rigor required to support modern industrial connectivity.
Looking Ahead
As ei³ continues expanding its OEM partnerships and delivering industrial connectivity solutions worldwide, strong cloud and cybersecurity leadership is more critical than ever.
“James brings deep institutional knowledge, technical expertise, and a strong commitment to protecting and strengthening the systems that power ei³ and our customers around the world.”
— Spencer Cramer, Founder and CEO of ei³
